São muitas as questões que os artistas colocam à forma clássica do cinema como um dispositivo de exibição de imagens em movimento para um público sentado em uma sala escura. Arquivo, apropriação, dispositivo, máquina, diálogo, conceito, fotografia, tecnologia, escala, memória, tempo. São muitos os termos trazidos por obras a redefinirem o cinema. Outras tecnologias e modos de ver, novas interlocuções com o espectador visitante, fabulação e memórias, imagem performativa e registros. A multiplicação das telas e suas relações. A construção de uma arquitetura particular para abrigar máquinas de imagens. O deslocamento da origem da imagem primeira, ou seja, a apropriação de arquivos de imagens e o reposicionamento de suas narrativas originárias. Movimentos inesperados de câmera. Efeitos de rasuras como uma imagem inaugural. São algumas das proposições aqui dispostas. O que me atrai nesses e em tantos trabalhos que não couberam aqui é um certo inconformismo diante de um modelo de cinema que se consolidou abrigando pouco as formas mais experimentais a que devem sua origem desde os primeiros tempos. Os artistas de cinema são aqueles que não se acomodam nas imagens que veem e pelas quais são vistos e continuam a inventar passagens.
